Adam Lambert's AMA performance, which has gone viral on YouTube and other sites, has been controversial since he closed the American Music Awards with it last weekend. Despite this, he has not apologies for the performance. He also added that he was taken aback by the harsh criticism.

After it aired, groups such as the Liberty Counsel filed formal complaints with the FCC. They demanded ABC be held responsible for airing the overtly sexual performance during primetime.

Adam Lambert was the "American Idol" season 8 runner-up. He appeared on CBS' "The Early Show" Wednesday morning, discussing the Adam Lambert AMA Video on YouTube and his performance. Lambert said the following on the show.

"I admit I did get carried away, but I don't see anything wrong with it. I do see how people got offended and that was not my intention. My intention was to interpret the lyrics of my song and have a good time with it."

For example, was one of the more controversial moments in the Adam Lambert AMA Video on YouTube, the full-on kiss of keyboard player Tommy Ratliff. Lambert told MTV the following:

"During rehearsal, I grab him by the hair and kind of just looked at him,. He's straight. He just, I guess, didn't mind getting kissed in the name of entertainment on stage."

Regarding Lambert's reference to Ratliff being straight, he made that reference in terms of his own sexuality. Lambert most definitely is not straight (not that there's anything wrong with that).
